You knit a man!
Here's my weekend project. "He" was a birthday card for my friend Brian who is an ace knitter. This "card" came complete with a linen ruscksack to hold a travel-size container of Soak woolwash and a gift certificate to LYS, Imaginknit. Brian already has a wonderful man, but the gift was still a hit. Yippee!
For those readers who want to knit their own man…it's fun and easy. Here's my specs:
You'll find the pattern here (thank you Ms. Mazzmatazz). I used fingering weight merino and no. 2 double points. I made the body and limbs slightly longer as I was knitting at a tight gauge and I did a detail in i-cord that I can't show here, but the recepient appreciated mightily.
The mini needles are bamboo skewers with rivet tops (thank you, Knit.1,Winter '07). The rucksack is a linen square with side loops for wearing.
And now? Back to work. I need to sell a book this year.

"...and I did a detail in i-cord that I can't show here..." You've certainly piqued my interest!
