So...last Friday and this Monday I was in the studio with the marvelous Andrea Snow recording a short story I wrote called Miss Eiderdown's Stocking. It's a love story featuring an unusual yarn store (aren't they all?), a stocking, ghosts, a thief and a cat. There's also some knitting along with plenty of unraveling.
I wrote the story last winter when I also happened to be knitting a stocking. In January I found two marvelous pros (Pat Jackson and Dan Gleich) to god-parent me through the audio process along with a great engineer (Stephen Berke) at a comfortable sound studio (Berke Sound). I also found the perfect voice: Ms. Andrea Snow.
Ms. Snow made me cry today. Not because she's bad, but because she's very, very good. For the record she also made me laugh, along with everyone else in the mixing booth.
I can wait to share this piece with you. I'm hunting for a sponsor now. We'll be downloadable (for free) right around Thanksgiving, just in time for holiday listening. Exciting stuff for this writer!
FYI. I finished the socks and the dog. Say hello to Mr. Tweedy, made from scraps of Rowan Tweed Yarn and some orange silk that was lying around.
Aw, Mr. Tweedy is pretty adorable. He has an orange sweater on!
