Fall is my favorite season — the season where I rise out of the doldrums and make changes. That's what comes from being delivered in a place where the leaves change color. I've always taken that as a sign that the trees are waking up and putting on their party gowns. I've traded fiery autumn displays for fog-shrouded hills, but my internal clock remains set to a mid-western dateline.
As a kid, I dragged through summer. I'm not the sweaty, seaside type. I'm the geek who likes the smell of new crayons. This year's changes are coming in the form of a new website, one that combines my work as a designer and a writer. You won't hear from me much over the next month. I'm aiming for a mid-November launch date.
I will post the occasional silly knitting photo or writing rant to keep in practice, but click through the photo albums in the right column while you can. They are going away.
P.S. I finished the monkey. He's dressing as Barbara Eden this Halloween. Nothing is as sexy as a monkey with a platinum braid!
P.P.S. I'm having my portrait shot for the site. I am dreading it. I've worked behind the camera my whole career just to avoid this situation. Glasses or contacts? Jacket? No jacket? Maybe a bolero? A scarf? A tasteful cravat with a stickpin? Sheese. Maybe my nose will shrink in profile.
P.P.P.S. I am chagrined to report that not everything can be reduced to seven. I still have 25 patterns for knitted toys on my hard drive, including this one which I'm making up for Halloween.
